The "eyes" have it!

In a recent conversation with a new old (or old new) peep, there was a passing remark made in reference to eyes, which led me to the thought that you can tell so much about others just by the look of, or in their eyes.

There are a variety of 'looks':
     the, I love you, look
the, if looks could kill I'd be dead, look
the, you know exactly what I'm thinking, look
the, I've got a secret, look
the, "Mom", look (you know the one I'm referring to)
.....and the list goes on and on...

To really know someone, look in their eyes. You can usually read truths and not-so-much truths. You can recognize sadness. You can see total happiness and elation. You can see "the wheels a-turnin' ". What precipitated this snippet in the conversation was a remark I made about my hubby. See, he's somewhat of a quiet man; one of those "still waters run deep" kind of guy. He has a little mysterious tidbit in his past and when I bring it up, he'll say he has no idea what I'm talking about. HOWEVER, when I look in his eyes, there is an impish sparkle.....another one of those looks.
And he REALLY thinks I believe that?!

Some, some....summertime!

For the first time EVER, I have enjoyed one of the perks of teaching.....extended time off during the summer! I have always imagined that all teachers love this perk; how could they not?
I've done 'some' of this and 'some' of that. I have enjoyed every minute of the 'somes'. But, I will have to say, that my favorite 'some' so far has been the some-time I spent with friends over the last several days. We took a little girl-time to go to the beach and basically do nothing. Watched several chick flicks, ate wonderful food, visited, sunned; but most importantly, got to know each other a LITTLE better. The things you learn about new YaYa's!!!......the things new YaYa's learn about you.......she knows I snore!!!!! Ugh...but somehow, I don't think she cares.
